Michael Levy

While a student at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Michael Levy participated in the Frank J. Remington Center’s Restorative Justice Clinic. In addition to helping Wisconsin’s incarcerated population navigate the difficult terrain of reconciling with the victims of their crimes, he received his first exposure to the practice of family law by assisting incarcerated individuals with family law matters.

His true passion for the practice of family law was cemented when he served as an extern to the Honorable Grace Dickler, Presiding Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Domestic Relations Division. In working closely with Judge Dickler and other professionals in the division, he began to fully appreciate and understand the positive impact that a dedicated family law attorney can have on divorcing parents and their children.

Michael joined Ladden & Allen (now Allen & Glassman, Chartered) in July 2017 after nearly two years at another Chicago family law firm. Previously, he was a law clerk at a personal injury law firm in Madison, Wisconsin. At Allen & Glassman, he counsels clients on dissolution of marriage, legal separation, parenting issues including child custody and child support, spousal maintenance, parental alienation, and domestic violence.

After graduating in 2012 from Boston University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Michael went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin Law School in May 2015, concentrating in family law. He was named to the Dean’s List in 2013.

Michael concluded his tenure at UW Law by being awarded the 2014 American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyer’s Leonard Loeb Scholarship, given to a University of Wisconsin Law School student who demonstrates outstanding qualities and achievement in their law school career and an interest in the practice of family law.

Michael is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the Wisconsin State Bar Association.
